Backing up today after a 3hour run yesterday with Chris up the Peak, took it easy on the old boy as he wanted a quiet start to the week. 9.5km in just under an hour represented a bit of a slow run but it was good to run off the legs from Sunday and it was a good sweat out. We only have another two really long runs and planning another 3 hour run this Saturday and then hopefully a 3 1/2 to 4 hour run the following week. Must sort out some terrain shoes as I spent most of today stumbling and sliding about and can see myself doing an injustice which wouldnt be good timing. Until tomorrow.

Well here we go again a little over 4 weeks to go until race day and it seems to be approaching a lot faster than last year. I personally think this Triple Peaks will be tougher than last year for a couple of reasons. Our training has been hit or miss since the Cape Challenge back in early December, holidays, Christmas etc have all played there part in interrupting our finely tuned training program. We also know whats coming so we have gone from the naive to oh sh%t here comes another hill. And lastly we are another year older. I worry about Chris in his advanced years but he has amazing mental strength and bloody mindedness so he will be right.
Once again we have Fern Ridge Ltd as principle sponsors and we are truly grateful for their continuing support.
This year we are raising funds for Make a Wish Foundation and all proceeds will go towards a local Hawkes Bay recipient. This foundation are great and you only need to visit the website to see the joy and happiness they bring to children around the country.
We would also like to thank Barnes Mossman Financial Services being the first of the local companies to register their support for our fundraising venture.
